Most fraud doesn't "break" systems: it tricks people. Knowing the most common tricks is your best defence.
The 4 most frequent scams
1. The fake operator. Someone calls pretending to be from IperMoney or the bank's "security team" and asks you for a code you received via SMS "to block a suspicious transaction". This is always a scam: that code authorises a payment, it doesn't block it. Hang up.
2. The fake link. An email or SMS saying "your account has been restricted, click here": the link leads to a copy of the site designed to steal your credentials. Always log in by typing the address yourself or through the official app, never through links in messages.
3. The supplier with the changed IBAN. An email (perhaps sent from a compromised account belonging to your real supplier) informs you that "the IBAN for payments has changed". Before paying, always verify by phone, calling the supplier at a number you already know.
4. The miracle investment. Someone you met online convinces you to "invest" by sending bank transfers. The profits shown are fake; the money sent never comes back.
The checks we run to help you
When you send a transfer, we check that the beneficiary's name matches the IBAN and warn you if it doesn't match: take that warning seriously.
Every payment requires your security code: keep it as safe as you would cash.
Remember: IperMoney staff will never ask you for passwords, codes or your PIN. Never.
