By law, we need to make sure you're really you. That's what identity verification is for: it's quick, you can do it from your phone, and it protects you and your business from anyone who might try to pretend to be someone else.
How it works, step by step
1. After you've added the people in your company, each of them will receive an SMS and an email with a personal link.
2. The link opens a guided process: first you photograph your document (front and back), then you take a quick selfie. The system compares your face with the photo on the document.
3. All done! The result appears on your onboarding summary page, next to each person's name: "To complete", "Under review", or "Verified".
The 4 most common mistakes (and how to avoid them)
Cropped or blurry photos: place the document on a table with good lighting, and make sure all four edges are visible in the frame.
Details that don't match: the name and date of birth you entered must be identical to those on your document. A missing middle name can cause the verification to fail.
Expired document: check the expiry date before you start.
Selfie in the dark or wearing sunglasses: stand in front of a window and take off any glasses or hats.
Has the link stopped working?
Verification links expire for security reasons. No problem: log into your account, open the onboarding summary, and use "Complete now" (this immediately starts a new verification) or "Resend link" to get a fresh one via SMS and email.
