Before creating your first card, there's just one thing you need to understand: the Card Account. Once you've got that, everything else is easy.
One piggy bank for all your cards
Think of the Card Account as the piggy bank for your cards: it's an account with its own dedicated IBAN, separate from your main account. All cards spend from there.
You top up just once and all cards immediately have funds available.
The balance you see on your cards is the same for all of them: it's the balance of the Card Account.
To set how much each card can spend, you use limits, not the balance.
Limits: the real control for each card
Each card has its own spending rules, which you decide: daily and monthly limits, online payments yes/no, contactless, allowed merchant categories, even specific days and times. A practical example: you give a team member a card with a limit of €300 per month, just for fuel and business trips; for yourself, you keep a card with no restrictions. Both draw from the same piggy bank, but each within its own rules.
Transactions are always kept separate
Even though the balance is shared, each card has its own transaction history and statement: you always know who spent what.
💡 Note: cards created before the Card Account was introduced continue to work the old way, with their own separate balance. No changes for them.
